A new tooth!

Gabriel has another tooth popping through...upper left! It also looks like he could have two more next to that one coming in. This could probably explain his waking up often at night and runny nose. I just think its all so worth it to see the next cute little tooth pop up in his mouth! It seems like everyday Gabe picks up more speed! He is a fearless little toddler~he slides headfirst down our bed, the stairs, slides~in the bathtub he crawls around in the water and even goes under sometimes, face down, with no complaint after coming up. He sure does scare me at times, but the world just seems to be one big playground for him! I'm just worried that when I'm huge and nine months pregnant he'll run away from me and I won't be able to catch him :) He's gotten to the get-into-everything stage...you know, the toilet, the toilet paper, every trash can, every drawer in the kitchen. Actually, I was just searching for my aluminum foil that strangely disappeared! Just seeing the joy and excitement of a toddler experiencing simple, everyday things inspires me to savor and enjoy all the little things of life. He is amazed and thrilled with a cement curb, pots and pans, paper bags, shredding paper, and unfortunately...duck poop (yuck!) I was outside saying good-bye to Nick the other day, and accidently took my eyes off Gabe for about two whole seconds only to find him squishing some mysterious substance in his hands. I'm sure you can guess what it was. Naturally, being the germ-freak I am I instantly whipped him inside washed his hands with antibacterial soap and preceded to coat him up to his elbows in hand sanitizer. I really am trying to cut down on my addiction to Purell, because as Nick constantly reminds me it contributes to the world's increasing problem of bacteria resistance (or something close to that). But in those "emergency" situations I instinctively run to it! Anyways, there are other things going on in our lives besides Gabe :) My sister, Susie, is settling in to her apartment in Colorado Springs My mom and dad drove her out there and helped her move in. I think she begins her training on Monday, and starts teaching the middle of August! If anyone has a kindergarten-aged child in Colorado Springs I would encourage you to enroll him in Susie's class...she is a great teacher! My brother, Deke, is heading off to college near the end of August I believe. He is going to Central Michigan University. I'm sure I will probably be sending him cookies, or some form of baked good, every week! Even though Deke can probably cook for himself better than anyone his age! Nick is off today on a men's canoe trip....which is probably much-needed for him! He doesn't get much free time to relax between work, classes, his church responsibilities, and helping me out!
Here's a picture of Gabe's new (Nike!!) shoes...a birthday present from his Grandma Cappellano. They are just so, so cute on him.
Have a great weekend!

July 22...Gabe's 1st Birthday!!!

Here's the yogurt, Mommy!

Gabe with his fishing pole...and Uncle Deke's big catch
Happy Birthday to our lovely Gabriel! He is one year old today....and what an amazing year it has been! We woke him up today singing "Happy Birthday", which he wasn't too happy about at first :) We took him to Toys-R-Us to get his swingset that Nick's mom got for him, and we gave him our gift (a musical shapesorter). He loves that toy, he has played with it nonstop since we gave it to him! Tommorow is his big birthday party!
We just got back from Lake Blackshear in Cordele. We stayed in a cabin on the lake with my family for three days! We all had alot of fun! Gabe went on a boat for the first time...he loved it. Wasn't scared a bit, he wanted to walk around and help his Dad drive it. It was so cute...on the way home (on the boat) he fell sound asleep in Susie's arms. She carried him off the boat and all the way back to the cabin and he didn't even flinch! He kept us all entertained! I've posted a couple pictures from Lake Blackshear for everyone to see, and also some pictures of Gabe playing in the fridge!
We've decided that Michael's middle name will be Andrew. Little Michael is already quite active! Oh my...what will I do with another boy as active as Gabe?!?! I'll probably be twice as happy!!

Gabe is just changing and growing up more everyday! He is in constant motion! This morning, at Cracker Barrel we ordered him his first kid's meal! He ate it all, too! He's such a good eater! Today was Susie's (my sister) last Sunday here in Georgia with us. In a week she's moving to Colorado to teach Kindergarten at a private school in Colorado Springs! We are really proud of her, but a little jealous of where she gets to live! Pretty soon my brother, Deke, will be leaving for college up in Michigan, and then in about a month my Mom and Dad are PCS-ing to Iceland! This is the first time my family has been apart like this...its so sad! Sometime I'll get pictures of all of them online.
I am getting so excited about Gabe's birthday! We went to a party store to pick out some baby einstein decorations and Gabe just loved them! He's going to have so much fun eating that cake...my Mom's making a 3-D puppy cake!
We are going to Lake Blackshear for a couple days next week. Mom and Dad have a cabin reserved and a boat rented....Gabe's going to love it (well, Nick and I will enjoy the relaxation as well!)
Have a blessed day!

July 12, 2005
Hello everyone! This is our very first entry! I just thought this would be a good idea for us to stay connected with friends and family! And a way for me to show off pictures of my beautiful baby!! This is Gabriel on this John Deere "Buck". He is going to be one year old on the 22nd...I can't believe it! It seems like just yesterday we were handed this seven-pound brand new wonderful bundle of joy!
Here's a quick update on our family these days...
I'm still staying at home with Gabe and Nick continues working for the Air Force in Finance. Nick is currently taking classes at home towards his bachelor's degree. He would like to be commissioned as an officer! I am 21 weeks pregnant with BOY #2, and excited as ever. We are going to name this one Michael...the second angel God has blessed us with! Gabriel is learning and growing more everyday! He is walking, climbing, and stepping all over the place. He is a very active little boy with a VERY healthy appetite. I don't think there is one food we have given him that he hasn't liked! Gabe has now learned how to climb DOWN the stairs by himself, he conquered climbing up them all by himself a couple weeks ago. He loves to go up and down, back and forth from mommy to daddy. We are having his big birthday bash on July 23 at my Mom and Dad's!
Well, that's a quick view...I will hopefully write in here often to keep everyone updated!
Have a great day!
